
Iris Bond-Gill (she/her/hers) is the Chief Executive Officer of Opportunity Consulting. As CEO, she guides the company's growth and impact and offers clients strategic guidance and tactical expertise to create the conditions, policies, and practices to improve equity and outcomes. An established leader, Iris is known for her passion for inclusive and equitable systems. Iris has a strong background in equity in public policy, specifically in education and youth policy. Prior to founding Opportunity Consulting, Iris spent more than 20 years as a senior education policy leader, leading research, initiatives, and advocacy at the national and state levels, including as Deputy Executive Director at a civil rights coalition focused on education equity and as Assistant Superintendent of Elementary and Secondary Education at the DC state education agency. Iris started her career as a seventh-grade social studies teacher in New Orleans under the auspices of Teach For America. She is committed to closing opportunity gaps and advancing equity and justice for those most underserved by our institutions and systems. Iris believes great leaders are lifelong learners and that better solutions come when we seek out and listen to individuals most impacted by public policy decisions. Iris has a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University and a Master of Science degree in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She is trained in human-centered design techniques by IDEO, possesses a robust facilitation toolkit, and is an Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)© Qualified Administrator. Iris serves on a number of local and national nonprofit Boards of Directors.
