Opportunity Consulting, a consulting firm focused on advancing equity and improvement in public policy, is seeking a Program Coordinator. Opportunity Consulting works in issue areas related to education, workforce development, housing policy, and other municipal policy areas. We are committed to helping public service organizations build initiatives, conditions, and competencies to improve outcomes and opportunities for those our institutions and systems have historically underserved. Opportunity Consulting is looking to build a lean staff team to support its next phase of growth and impact, and the Program Coordinator plays a key role.
Who You Are
You are a dynamic player on our small team. Your role focuses primarily on supporting Opportunity Consulting’s programmatic needs (70%), with a smaller percentage of your time (30%) in support of operational and administrative functions. You are detail-oriented, process literate, and committed to the mission of improving opportunities for all. There is no typical day, so you enjoy wearing multiple hats. You are motivated to speak up, solve problems, follow through, and contribute your talents to the greater goals. You enjoy a highly collaborative team environment and are effective at managing your own time. As you gain experience, you take on increased responsibility.
Job Description:
The Program Coordinator will provide support and assistance in the development and delivery of educational and workforce programs or initiatives; duties may include (but are not limited to) support of internal/external stakeholders, implementation of routine program logistics, participation in team activities, use of electronic communications and technology, preparation of reports and program documentation, support of budget activities and data collection/input activities.
Essential Responsibilities

Provide routine program logistics/maintain requirements or activities to ensure the quality of programs.

Monitor program development timelines and communicate status to the supervisor.

Participate in recruitment activities, monitor enrollments, and report updates to program managers and assistants.

Assist in developing, editing, and producing materials, letters, forms, etc.

Update course materials, schedules, and requirements, and provide information to students/participants; resolve problems.

Assist in preparing reports and program documentation.

Prepare program confirmation and correspondence.

Design layout and format of project-related documents, brochures, reports, and conference/meeting materials.

Create and update web pages and social media posts.

Assist in delivering training, programs, courses, etc.
Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Collaborative – be a team player who is able to work directly with contractors and senior staff.

Flexible – willingness to gain expertise in multiple content areas, willingness to quickly pivot as the needs of clients change, willingness to be flexible with your work product to meet the needs of the office.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other commonly used computer software applications.

Must be based in the Washington, DC area.
